How to Overcome Procrastination

In talking with clients, people in general and from my own experience this issue of dealing with how to overcome procrastination, comes up time and time again.

So this is a timely reminder how to deal with it.

What is procrastination about really?

I have found personally that often it’s a diversion or distraction and it takes me away from what I really want or have planned .

It may be the same for you. So what to do?

If you are fearful of something it may be useful to embrace courage and acknowledge the fear and lean into it anyway.

Courage is like a muscle – you can build it up by using it and exercising your couraging muscles.
To find courage in the face of fear it is necessary to acknowledge the fear and act anyway.
“Easy to say” you say.
Acknowledge the fear and plan your goals or outcome ,then take action towards your chosen goals.
If it helps you you can also move away from something causing you pain you no longer need and then choose a positive goal or outcome to move towards.
