Mental Health in Retirement

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health

Taking care of our mental health is an act of self-love.

Mental health is important at any age and more so in retirement because many of our social connections

and support groups are no longer active or we haven’t maintained them like we did when working full time.

Regular exercise even just walking 30 minutes a day is important as is strength training.

Just as nutritious food is good for our bodies so is healthy information for our mind and soul.

Thoughts of not being enough if allowed to remain can lead to anxiety and depression.

Having a purpose and meaning is important when many things are changing and are not the same as when we were working full-time.

If you are experiencing mental health problems please seek professional help.

If you need help to find your purpose or meaning in life, I can help you with that.

Call me, 0419568043 or email slater.colin1@outlook.com

As a life coach, I can help you find clarity about your purpose, be a mentor, a guide, an accountability partner and your cheerleader.

Remember taking care of our mental health is an act of self-love.

Finding Your Purpose 5 step Program

Focus is critical

Finding your Purpose Program – 5 Steps

Colin Slater 0419 568 043 Email: slater.colin1@outlook.com

Why do this?

It gives direction and meaning to your life.

We are here for a reason and for a brief time.

When you focus on what you want and what really matters in your life it allows you to be less distracted and more centred on your goals/outcome and more able to achieve your desired results.

We have so many distractions around us these days; technology – smart phones, internet, computers, mp3 players, TV, PS4 players, cars and so on.

It is easy to lose sight of what matters, get distracted and get off track.

Some people live a life of “quiet desperation”, thinking they are not enough, instead of a life of purpose involving celebration, gratitude, abundance and joy.

Yes, there will be times of sadness, grief, loss and uncertainty, just as there is darkness, light and shades of grey.

It is all part of life’s tapestry and we can only know joy if we are open to it and in the words of Bren’e Brown, allow ourselves to be vulnerable enough and open to experience it.

Would you like to cut through the “noise” and the “chatter” to focus on what’s important in your life and bring your desires to reality?

Once you have a focused mission for your life, bringing your thinking into line is important too because sometimes we sabotage ourselves and let stuff get in the way of achieving our goals or outcomes.

Why examine values and beliefs? Because they are the basis of our decisions, along with our emotions and closely connected to this is taking responsibility for our decisions and our results.

Along the way, we receive feedback from our choices (sometimes dressed up as failure) and it is important to treat these as feedback, to learn from them and not take them personally.

My mission is to get you back in the driver’s seat, controlling and creating your best life the way you see it and want it to be.

If your vision is unclear or vague, I can help you with that too as a specialist life coach in positive self-talk and focused action towards achieving your desired results.

Smart goals are the way to go and these are explained in the course as part of your best mindset.

What you’ll learn?

  1. Focus
  2. Mindset
  3. Values and beliefs
  4. Taking 100% responsibility for your results
  5. Feedback

Time frame

This program usually takes 5 weeks allowing time to get the exercises, do them and return them to me for feedback. If you want one one-on-one coaching, each session is usually an hour, in person, one-to-one, over the phone or on zoom, if that works for you.

Otherwise you can do each module in your own time and contact me if you need clarification, have a question or get stuck.

Support

Email and phone support as needed with responses in 24 hours

The initial consultation is free – a twenty-minute conversation (confidential and judgement-free

as are all discussions when coaching) where I get to know you better and you find out how I can help you in your situation is how we can get started.

Investment is $100 upfront ( covers two sessions) and my guarantee to you is, if you are not satisfied that you have received that value or more, I will refund your money. I say investment to deter “tyre-kickers” looking for a “Freebie”.

If this resonates with you, then you can get started by emailing me here slater.colin1@outlook.com  and put Purpose in the subject line.

I’ll send you a questionnaire to get you started and your personal copy of my e-book “Reinventing Yourself” where these topics are covered.

Regards

Colin Slater
