Challenges

I remember at the age of 19, going with my parents to be interviewed by the principal of Roseworthy Agricultural College, Bob Herriot where I did my winemaking degree. He was a crusty old man with glasses with a dry wit and a bias to football players. I was a hockey player and the conversation went like this. “You’ll be unlikely to succeed here, lad”. He certainly knew more about human behaviour than me at the time and his challenge fired me up to succeed.

Well, my parents were a little dismayed and I took up the challenge and four years later graduated with a winemaking degree and spent the next 33 years working as a professional winemaker around Australia. The lesson here is to decide what you really want and go for it no matter what the resistance might be. My interest in winemaking came from making ginger beer after seeing my grandmother making it on a farm on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.

I also trained as an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) life coach in 2009  after being attracted to people like Tony Robbins,  Sharon Pearson and have continued to hone my coaching skills whilst still pursuing an interest in all things wine.

So now my mission now is to make a difference in my life and that of others who ask to choose what’s important and work towards making that vision come to reality, one life at a time. If you have challenges and are facing events that you may need help to get through, call me,
