Importance of being Grounded

Importance of being grounded.

By being Grounded I do not mean being confined to your home like some people are at the moment.

Being grounded has many benefits

I’m referring to allowing time for yourself out in nature to reconnect to the earth and all its healing wonders.

Why do this?

The benefits of grounding are many:

Healthwise:

  • Allows you time out in the sunlight and fresh air which is important for vitamin D production especially if you spend a lot of time indoors.
  • Helps keep our circadian rhythms in tune with daylight and healthy night time sleeping habits. Closely connected to these are our metabolic processes and how they operate efficiently. People who do shift work or travel across time zones have difficulty keeping their sleep/wake patterns synchronised.
  • Self-care: time to process and reconnect with what’s important or what matters in your life. This makes it more possible to calm the nervous system and lower stress levels and anxieties. This means less inflammation and promotes healing.
  • A healthy perspective on our connection with the mother earth and all its creatures. We only have one planet and we need to take care of it.
